Norma Ratcliffe is often referred to as ‘The First Lady’ as one of the first woman to make wine in South Africa. Norma is the family matriarch and has been head-winemaker at Warwick since the late 1970’s. The first woman to become a member of the Cape Winemakers Guild and the only woman to serve as Chairperson, she has played a pivotal role in the development of the South African wine industry.
Norma was born in Edmonton, Canada. She is a qualified textile designer, accomplished ceramicist, industry mentor and currently works as Warwick’s own ‘Style Director’.
Mike has been Managing Director of Warwick since 1999. He has played a key role in positioning Warwick as one of the most innovative producers of wine in South Africa. He is deeply involved in many wine industry bodies and is a keenly followed social media commentator. He was in the first graduating class in Wine Marketing at Adelaide University in 1999. Mike’s hobby is amateur auctioneering.
Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright is a Cape Wine Master and published author. She studied cooking at the Cordon Bleu in Paris. She then graduated from the University of Stellenbosch before starting her own catering business. She worked as a wine buyer for Woolworths as well as an export manager for a large wine exporter, before joining the family business. She lives in Johannesburg with her family where she runs the PR and communications for Warwick. She is also very involved in the Warwick education programs, mainly for service staff in restaurants and retail outlets
